Duncan never had the chance to kiss Tessa goodbye, burying his head in her blonde hair in the darkness. His bitter tears knew no bounds that night, tears of a thousand regrets. If only he had gone outside with them, she might have lived a little longer. Duncan was no fool. He had known he would lose her one day, but he had hoped that they would grow old together. He hadn't thought it would end so suddenly. Nothing could bring her back now. That random act of violence robbed him of any chance to have that last kiss goodbye.
